Dell has announced that it is set to open its first authorised training centre in the Middle East.

The Dubai-based facility will be the first of its kind for Dell in the region, and will be used to deliver technical training for its partners and customers.

The centre will be run Dell Education Services (DES) and will include classrooms and a virtual lab to recreate end user environments. The centre will provide training on solutions including server, storage network system management, and virtualisation. Training can also be provided on-site at customer's own workplaces.

Dell said the centre was opened in response to strong demand from customers and partners, who previously had to send staff out of the region for training.

"We are seeing Middle Eastern businesses looking again at technology investment - but with an even sharper focus on ensuring impact and value for money. Training staff on how to use new technology ensures maximum return on investment from day one.  Historically many of our customers who wanted Dell training didn't undertake it because sending staff to Europe was too great an obstacle. We are proud to be able to deliver Dell Education Services training right here in our region. Customers want locally available facilities and trainers that are familiar with the region's markets and business landscape. By providing regionally-appropriate, cost and time effective training we're making that possible," said Mo Laher, Head of Services, Dell Middle East.
