IT networking, consultancy, security training and certification experts Spectrum, have opened a new data centre based on Juniper Networks 2 Tier Switching Architecture in Dubai.

The new data centre features Juniper Networks EX Series Ethernet Virtual Chassis Technology, which according to Juniper has low power consumption and features the use of a virtualised environment and IP based power management.

The data centre is designed to allow Spectrum to offer more courses and accommodate a greater number of students.

Spectrum now offers four classrooms with an average class capacity of twelve or more in Dubai.

The learning institution also plans to invest in the Juniper Networks MX 3D architecture to train large enterprise and service providers on this platform.

The new data centre will also give Spectrum's partners in India, Europe and APAC, better scalability and constant availability.

"Since the inception of Spectrum we have always believed in having local availability of resources like an in-house Lab and now a data centre that not only allows us to be more flexible in scheduling the classes, but also allows us to offer more customised classes based on the customer network. As we see more end user requirements for advance training we can help provide the highest level of certified Instructors and a rich pool of professionals to help people scale their knowledge," said Sanjeev Kumar Singh, managing director, Spectrum FZ.

Spectrum's in-house consulting group will be used in the project to ensure best practices, standards and compliances in its deliverables.

"Spectrum has proved to be an efficient and effective training partner for Juniper Networks in the region, delivering to customers and partners the required knowledge to support and optimise the use of Juniper Networks high-performance networking product portfolio," said Taj El-Khayat, regional director, Channels and General Business, MENA, Juniper Networks.

Spectrum is one of the largest Authorised Education Centers (AEC) for Juniper Networks in the Middle East and offers a wide range of Juniper Networks Routing and Security Certification Courses.

Spectrum also offers specialised courses such as Certified Ethical Hackers (CEH) from EC-Council and also Security Best Practices, Data Centre Design and Cloud Computing.
