HP today unveiled its HP Toushsmart610 Consumer PC, which it one of the industry's first touchscreen desktop PCs to feature a 60 degree reclining display.

The new PC screen goes from upright to almost flat, allowing users to adjust the display to their preferences.

"As the leader in touch computing, HP is committed to evolving the touch experience, making each iteration of the TouchSmart PC more intuitive, resourceful and fun for users," said Salim Ziade, HP PSG general manager ME. "The latest generation is no exception, with a new design that makes it easier and more comfortable to use, and it affords businesses the added flexibility of integrating the TouchSmart where convenience, space constraints and appearance matter."

The new TouchSmart610 Consumer PC features a 58.4cm diagonal high-definition display that reclines up to 60 degrees and tilts up to five degrees forward.

According to HP, the tilting design is based on the company's ergonomics research, which has revealed that a screen's reclining capability provides increased comfort for longer-term usage.

The screen is designed to provide optimum viewing even when reclined and the screen can swivel 180 degrees so users can share screen content.

The TouchSmart's has a one-cord setup and slim design to save space and the devices control features are located to the right and left sides of the display.

The TouchSmart610 consumer PC allows users to also enjoy standout wallpaper thanks to the multilayered background technology, touch optimised applications such as Twitter, and HP's RecipeBox, webcam and music applications. Users can also add apps via the TouchSmart Apps Centre.

The TouchSmart610 also features Beats Audio, developed by HP and Dr Dre to deliver high quality audio.

The TouchSmart610 has HP's new Link-Up application which allows users to connect any laptop or desktop PC to the TouchSmart through a home network. Users can transfer files or view content such as pictures and videos on the TouchSmart's larger HD display.

The HP TouchSmart610 Consumer PC is expected to be available in April at a starting price of AED5999.
