UAE telco Du has signed an agreement with Bahraini operator, Batelco, has launched an MPLS IP VPN interconnectivity service aimed at providing IP data services to UAE and Bahrain-based businesses. The service will also provide secure inter-office connectivity between both countries.

Farid Faraidooni, chief commercial officer of Du, said that the new agreement will offer a carrier grade MPLS VPN solution to its UAE-based enterprise customers while providing Du's carrier partners with a "one-stop-shop solution" for transit services into Bahrain.

The agreement allows Du's carrier partners in Bahrain to experience greater reach in their respective markets for data service connectivity, competitive pricing and an advantageous offering for all those involved with Du as the GCC partner for services into Bahrain. For UAE-based enterprise clients, it will be the extension of the carrier grade VPN to their Bahrain-based office, a multi-purpose service offering to address various office applications, and competitive pricing, as well as a comprehensive offering where du is the partner of choice for global VPN solutions.

Adel Daylami, general manager for enterprise, Batelco Bahrain, said that the agreement complements Batelco's range of global connectivity services such as global IP-VPN, IPLC, global satellite services and global datacenter that not only enhances efficiency through dedicated interconnectivity but also offers reliable support.
