SAP has signed a strategic agreement with the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) in Dubai to standardise all divisions of FEWA on SAP software solutions.

FEWA's hopes this initiative will aid its objective to provide excellent services and reliable electricity and water supplies to the Northern Emirates.

"Our primary focus is ensuring that our customers receive the highest levels of service, and our investment in the latest innovative technology ensures that our objectives are met.  The SAP solutions deployed will guarantee that our consumers and businesses receive world-class services," said Mohamed Saleh, FEWA director general.

SAP will assist FEWA to modernise its business application software infrastructure to ensure that the utility company will operate with the latest SAP technology to promote secure, transparent, and accessible solutions.

"FEWA's pioneering adoption of SAP Utility Solutions is transforming its business processes and driving the next generation of service provision in the Middle East Utility industry; better serving its customers, employees and the community," said Kevin Scott, Head of MENA Growth Markets, SAP

FEWA will be deploying SAP Utility Solutions which are designed to provide a unified end-to-end SAP platform across the whole of FEWA.

FEWA will be given access to the SAP Benchmarking Programme, which will allow the company to access and measure its performance in the industry.

SAP and FEWA will hold regular strategic sessions to discuss leadership, innovation and development across Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Customer Services and IT business solutions for the Utility Industry.

They will also conduct annual meetings focusing on solutions to support SmartGrids, demand side management, smart metering and pre-payment, renewable energies, sustainable cities, CO2 reporting, and overall energy sustainability.
