Affordable Android phone hits UAE The Micromax A60 Android-based smartphone will retail at AED649 from major electronics retailers in the UAE.

Indian domestic mobile handset manufacturer, Micromax Informatics, has announced the launch of its Android-based phone, the A60 Andro in the UAE.

The A60 Andro is an Android 2.1 device and features a 7.112-cm touch screen display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels a 65K color display and is powered by a 600 MHz processor.

The A60 also features GPS location tracking, Wi-Fi, a compass and proximity sensor and comes with a 3.2 MP Camera.

For connectivity, the phone comes with Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and USB 2.0 and supports various sound formats such as AMR-WB, WAV, MP3, iMelody and Midi Ringtone.

The A60 Andro has an accelerator sensor which switches the screen between landscape and portrait mode depending on how the phone is being held. It has 150 MB internal memory and supports a 32GB External Micro SD Card.

A60 Andro will be available at AED649 from major electronics retailers such as Sharaf DG, E4U, Emax and Jacky's.

Appreciate their performance as its being successfully used in Indian market and now launching in UAE. We should encourage these manufacturer to keep there job tidy with high performance at lower price.

This is indeed good news for the price conscious buyer. Also great to see an Indian product juggling with the Chinese in the price segment.
