ASBIS has been awarded the Middle East & North Africa Distributor of the Year award at the EMEA Channel Academy, in Monaco earlier this month.

The distributor won the honour through a live vote at the awards gala dinner, picking up 41% of the vote from the EMEA channel vendor executives in the audience. ASBIS beat Almasa, Aptec, Redington and FDC in the vote.

"Being honored such a prestigious Award with such an impressive 41% of votes indicates that our commitment to the community of vendors and partners is clear and directed towards prosperity of all of its members, said Hesham Tantawi, vice president META at ASBIS. "We will work hard to maintain and reinforce this position, doing our best to improve our exceptional vendor and customer relationships,"

"Making it to the final five nominees is an achievement in itself, based on a poll of hundreds of vendors in the run-up to the ceremony. All distributors that were nominated should be pleased with their achievement. These awards also showcased the continued diversity that exists in the EMEA distribution channel. The relationship between vendors and distributors is more important than ever as channel models evolve and the services offered expand and deepen," said Farouk Hemraj, CEO at DISTREE Events, the organizers of the awards.
