Polycom's authorised value added distributor in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), FVC, will be heading off on a GCC-wide road show to launch its full suite of HD voice, video, telepresence and infrastructure solutions from Polycom.

FVC will be joined by Jabra on the week-long road show that will begin in Oman on 5th February 2011 and finish in Abu Dhabi on 9th February 2011.

"Polycom today provides a complete, standards-based, and interoperable UC solution for voice, video, conferencing, and collaboration, giving customers a choice through the scalable Polycom infrastructure and Microsoft Lync platform," said Charles James, Microsoft Alliance director at Polycom. "We look forward to engaging with customers to give them a sense of how we are supporting the transformation of business communication at the roadshow in partnership with Microsoft."

The road show will showcase the Polycom unified solution that unites Microsoft UC platforms - Microsoft Lync, Microsoft Exchange Server, and Microsoft SharePoint Server - with Polycom's voice and video collaboration solutions.

This solution is designed to enable real-time communications in both enterprise and business-to-business (B2B) environments.

"As a VAD committed to bringing emerging technologies to our enterprise customers, this road show will give businesses in the region an exclusive opportunity to learn more about how Polycom leverages Microsoft Lync to meet the needs for real-time collaboration," said Dharmendra Parmar, FVC's general manager - marketing. "The solutions give enterprises access to an integrated solution that enable its employees to communicate with their customers from anywhere in a cost-effective and secure manner."

The Polycom solutions work with Microsoft Lync without gateways, designed to make them easy to deploy, manage, and use.

Polycom is the only company currently offering a complete line of standards-based, fully interoperable voice, video, and Telepresence solutions for Microsoft environments.

With Microsoft and Polycom, users are able to communicate using familiar applications and move easily between them, for example adding rich voice and video to IM, e-mail and calendars.

The voice and video solutions for Microsoft Lync are also designed to support system-wide secure authentication and media encryption, securing calls inside and outside the network.
