Juniper Networks has announced the appointment of two new senior executives to manage channel partners.

At EMEA level, David Helfer, an eleven-year veteran of Juniper takes on the role of vice president of partners, while Emilio Umeoka joins Juniper from Microsoft to become senior vice president, worldwide partners.

Umeoka was previously president of Microsoft Asia Pacific, and has held leadership roles with a channel player in Latin America, and with Compaq and Microsoft. As senior vice president for worldwide partners, Umeoka will be responsible for Juniper's global channel strategy and partner initiatives, and differentiating Juniper's channel organisation from its competitors.

"Umeoka's proven international experience strengthens our executive leadership team and brings tremendous business value and street credibility to Juniper's global channel organization and the thousands of partners we do business with worldwide. Under Umeoka's leadership, we are plan to build on the success of our worldwide partner organization and ensure best practices, programs and resources are shared throughout our global Juniper Partner community," said John Morris, executive vice president, field operations, Juniper Networks.

Helfer moves from vice president of Juniper's Strategic Alliances organisation, where he led the Alliances Field Engagement, Partner Operations and Products teams. In his new role, Helfer will be tasked with redefining Juniper's partner team across EMEA, to support partners in growing the company's business.

"As Juniper continues to extend its reach and deliver the new network through partners, this is a really exciting time to be structuring and managing the channel's go-to-market in EMEA," said Helfer. "Juniper Networks has consistently invested in every aspect of our distribution and reseller community and I look forward to expanding the role to maintain the best-in-class profitability and support we provide our partners in the enterprise and service provider markets."

"I am thrilled that David is joining the EMEA team," said Dolan. "Partners are critical to Juniper's continued success, and David's vast experience of working globally with our partner ecosystem will be invaluable as we enhance and expand our strategic partnerships."

Helfer replaces David Small, who left Juniper last month to join McAfee as vice president of channel and commercial business for EMEA.
