Edimax has launched the BR-6258n, a new nano-router in the region. The device is a 150Mbps wireless broadband router and targets SOHOs. The energy efficient and space saving router is IEEE 802.11b/g/n compliant and is said to have a signal coverage range that is three times greater than standard 802.11g/b routers.

"With both a WAN port and a LAN port, the BR-625n gives users the flexibility of using it as either a router or a wireless adapter. The true convenience of the design lies in that, the user only needs to make the appropriate cable connections and the BR-625n will switch between the two modes automatically," said Mr. Jihad Youssef, G.M , Edimax Middle East.

The BR-6258n is equipped with a built-in WPS button that allows for the network to be secured with a single click. Its NAT/NAPT function allows for sharing the connection with 253 intranet users. In addition virtual servers and virtual DMZ functions allow internal servers to be accessed from the internet. It also supports AP, AP client, Bridge, Bridge+ WDS, and universal repeater modes. Other functionality includes DDNS and SIP, Virtual server and DMZ hosting, MAC/IP filter and URL blocking, static routing, UPnP architecture, VPN pass- through (IPSec/PPTP) and schedule control.

"This Edimax router is enriched with features that includes energy efficiency and space saving. With stylish looks, it has all the features that make it resourceful and an amazing performer," concluded Mr. Youssef.
