Getting married in Abu Dhabi has now been made easy. Prospective couples no longer have to go to the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) to document their union as the department has launched an eMarriage system.

Under the new system, the marriage clerk will come to your home or business with a laptop and enter all your marriage information into the ADJD system through an online procedure accessible through wireless internet.

Each of the appointed marriage clerks has his own laptop and is supplied with a username and password to access the official marriage agreement system remotely.

The clerk enters the couple's information and any other data relevant to the union directly into the system's database and the potential husband can collect the marriage agreement document from the ADJD at a later date.

All marriage clerks have undergone training in the new system at the marriage agreement section of the ADJD.

According to the ADJD, the new system will improve the marriage department's efficiency, reduce paperwork and workload and ensure the data gathered is accurate.
