Xerox has released its first ColorQube desktop solid ink color printer onto the market.

According to the company, the ColorQube 8570 generates 90% less waste than its rivals and produces high quality colour prints.

The printer can produce up to 40 pages per minute in black and white and colour, this printer, which retails at $796, is designed for the small business.

The ColorQube 8570 features Xerox's Color by Words, a colour matching technology which improves colour matching accuracy. This feature is designed to allow users to select a select from a menu of words such as "red apple" or "blue sky" to customise colours to their preferences.

The printer also has Adobe Postscript3 and PANTONE color-approved simulations as well as 2400 FinePoint image quality.

The ColorQube 8570 is designed to be more environmentally friendly, with defaults for double-sided printing, using recycled paper and proof printing.

The Intelligent Ready feature is designed to monitor and learn usage patterns and switch itself to low-power mode when it is unlikely to be used.

The ColorQube 8570 printer is now available in the Middle East.
