Synchronica, a mobile messaging services provider, has signed a deal with the Nigerian subsidiary of a large pan-African mobile operator group for its Mobile Gateway software, which will enable the operator to provide services such as push email, instant messaging and connectivity to social networking sites.

The company's Mobile Gateway product is compatible with virtually any mobile phone. The deal, which is worth $560,000, is for an initial order of licences for Mobile Gateway.

Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO of Synchronica, said that Nigeria is the continent's largest and fastest growing mobile market, and this initial deal with the Nigerian subsidiary has further extended the company into the next-generation mobile messaging space.

The deal is the eighth order for Mobile Gateway from a subsidiary of the group. The eight subsidiaries of the group together represent about 100 million mobile subscribers in the continent.
