First Gulf Bank has launched a remote cheque depositing and clearance service for corporate customers.

FirstValue is designed to allow customers to bank cheques from their offices using specially designed scanners.

These devices will be provided to corporate customers free of charge along with the associated software.

Corporate customers can use the device to digitally scan the cheque and the image, along with other necessary data, which will then be securely transmitted directly to First Gulf Bank.

The physical cheques will be collected by a First Gulf Bank courier and the money will be transferred into the receiving account when the bank receives the physical cheque. This process is designed to speed up cheque deposits.

"In line with our commitment to deliver products and services that address the needs of a dynamic economy, facilitate its progress as well as meeting customer requirements, we are launching FirstValue for our corporate customers. This new service shall allow our customers to optimise cash flow management by maximising their liquidity, therefore giving them an operational and competitive edge. We invite all our valued corporate customers to experience the convenience and benefits of this service," said George Abraham, head of Corporate Banking at FGB.

This remote cheque deposit service complies with Central Bank of the UAE guidelines dated October 15 , 2010.
