Movius Interactive Corporation, a VAS solutions provider, has introduced Pay-4-Me, a ‘reverse charge' system targeted at telecom operators. The application is designed to help operators increase their network usage by stimulating additional mobile call traffic resulting in increased ARPU levels, particularly in emerging markets.

The application is to be launched at the GSM>3G Middle East Telco World Summit in Dubai next week.

The solution allows mobile users to make calls even when they have no credit on their own device by dialing a prefix number to request that the person they are calling accept the call charges.

Farid Hilal, regional vice president for MENA at Movius, said: "We know that many people can't make calls for a number of days each month because they cannot afford to top-up their zero-balance prepaid accounts.

"This results in lost revenue for carriers, but with the Pay-4-Me application, calls that previously could not be made are now possible via reverse billing," he added.

Hilal also said that the service is of value in urgent situations and can also be adopted for business purposes so that organisations can accept calls from employees.

The solution can be used in conjunction with other value added services such as voicemail, missed call notification and side-line services, where multiple phone numbers are being used on a single device.
