Briefing sessions for the Black Hat IT security event will open on Wednesday, following on from two days of technical training that have been completed this week.

The event, being held for the first time in the Middle East, has brought together IT security experts from around the world, for a series of training sessions and briefings on new developments in the sector.

The UAE Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT), Khalifa University of Science and Technology and United Business Media (UBM) are responsible for bringing the event to the region.

His Excellency Mohamed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General of the TRA commented: "The aim in exposing these vulnerabilities experienced across the world is to educate professionals in the IT industry and to develop the security infrastructure to keep abreast of worldwide best practice in combating these issues. We will be presenting a number of internationally recognized speakers to do this."

"Cyber security is increasingly seen as a top priority across the globe and we are delighted to see Abu Dhabi is taking the necessary steps to becoming a thought leader in security for the Middle East region," said Jeff Moss, Founder of Black Hat.
