Cisco is returning to Bahrain next year with Cisco Live 2011, an event which is planned to be even bigger than its recent Networkers Bahrain expo, which attracted around 4,000 attendees, both live and online.

"The success of Cisco Networkers 2010 was testament to how the Government of Bahrain and Cisco collaborated to create an environment where technology can thrive via the progressive regulation policies. The event plays an important role in strengthening morale amongst employee populations in this region and provides us all with an opportunity to further Bahrain's vision for 2030, which is to make the Kingdom a major investment and economic hub," said His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Atteyatallah Al Khalifa, minister of Cabinet Affairs, Minister Responsible for Telecommunications Sector, the kingdom of Bahrain

Cisco Live! 2011 will be held under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The event is Cisco's flagship event, and is designed to put the company in contact with key players across the Middle East, Africa and beyond.

The planned three-day forum will feature more than 20 different companies from Bahrain, the UAE, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and North Africa.

"Networkers Bahrain 2010 exceeded everyone's expectations at just about every level. In recognition of this tremendous success, as well as reinforcing our ongoing commitment to the Middle East and Bahrain, we will put even greater focus on this event in Bahrain and create even more impact this year. Our aspiration is that we collectively will be inspired, educated and motivated to build a collaborative and sustainable community which continues to harness the power of ICT to accelerate change across the region,"   said Duncan Mitchell, senior vice president, Cisco Emerging Markets, and executive sponsor, Cisco Live 2011, Bahrain.

More than 200 sessions will be designed for Cisco Live! based on feedback from attendees at the Networkers Bahrain expo. The event will feature four distinct programs, from high-level visionary insights to deep-dive technical education, spread over three days, plus an additional one-day Technical Seminar Pass.

More than 40,000 customer and partners attend Cisco Live! events each year (in person and virtually), and Cisco expects more than 4,000 attendees from 20 countries will participate in the Cisco Live! Bahrain.
