Opera launches Android browser
Opera Mobile 10.1 beta version is now available for free
Opera Software has given Android users a new choice when it comes to browsers. The company just released its free Opera Mobile 10.1 beta into the Android Market.
"Android users now have a better choice when it comes to using a browser on their mobile devices," said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. "With Opera's new browser for Android, we give users the opportunity to access the Web, using the best tools available."
The new Opera system is designed to have a faster page download time, particularly on slow networks, thanks to Opera Turbo, which can provide up to 80% data compression.
According to the company, the system also features a fluid panning, scrolling and zooming browsing experience on the Android operating system.
Opera 10.1 also has built in geolocation support and the ability to sync bookmarks across devices.
The company has also created Speed Dial, which gives the user quick access to their favourite websites and saves passwords for each.
Opera Mobile is not yet available for Android users in Arabic, but caters to 18 other languages including Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Swedish.
