du will be fully supporting Breast Cancer Awareness week and doing its part to raise the profile of the disease by launching its own ‘Pink Ribbon Week', which will run from the October 24th to 30th.

"National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is dedicated to increasing awareness of the importance of early breast cancer detection. Here in the UAE the problem is truly serious, with breast cancer being identified as one of the leading forms of cancer, with even girls as young as 16 susceptible to it.  This is what compelled us to personally contribute to this important global campaign by launching our own ‘Pink Ribbon Week' with the aim of boosting awareness of this disease among our colleagues and the community and reminding women to take preventive action for earlier detection," commented Hala Badri, EVP Brand and Communications, du.

During its ‘Pink Ribbon Week', du will be sending out a special breast cancer awareness message to all of its customers, while du employees are participating in the BurJuman Pink Walkathon on October 29. The walk aims to raise both funds and awareness about the disease.

du will also be displaying the pink ribbon on all of its digital communication channels including twitter and Facebook. The company will also be supporting other awareness initiatives such as the Breast Cancer Event at Le Meridien Mina Seyahi on October 27, where the company will donate a smartphone as a prize.

The company has put together a short awareness video about breast cancer which will be aired in their stores across the UAE; the video includes tips and advice about prevention and early detection of the disease.
