It has taken over 2,000 square feet of space where it is setting up an office-come-solutions centre. The company will be putting its software on site and it will become a demo centre for its customers in the region.

“The DOZ is a very natural location for us because the progressive policies of the local government here, which encourages foreign companies to come and set up business operations. In addition there is excellent infrastructure here including telecoms infrastructure which is a basic requirement for us and finally we also get access to local talent when we set up an operation here. One of our objectives in coming here is to tap into the availability of local talent. So we do intend to hire from local campuses and build up a pool of trained specialists to service our customers,” says Sundip Banerjee, L&T Infotech’s CEO.

The company has been operating in the Middle East for three to four years and already has several small offices in the region.

“We are now setting up a much bigger office as our business is expanding and we like to set things up ahead of term. We are going to be here for the long term and customers can build up confidence when they entrust us with large, complex software development projects,” says Banerjee.
