The vsat division of Lunasat Offshore has merged with IDMH’s subsidiaries, IDMI Sal Offshore and Communications Network Services Inc, to establish a new company, Lunasat-IDMI.

Lunasat is a satellite services player and a system integrator that provides  services to governments, institutions, corporations, GSM operators and end-users in the MENA region.

IDMI is Lebanon’s leading ISP with about 60% of the high speed Internet connection segment covering the individual and the corporate sectors.

“This merger represents a pooling of the expertise of two key service providers well established in the Middle East and Africa regions, in an effort to develop and offer competitive turnkey solutions in Satellite communications , benefits and services to our respective clients and partners alike,” says Ziad Monia, CEO, Lunasat.

At the end of 2004, IDM founders announced the creation of IDMI Sal Offshore which integrated all the group’s innovation capabilities and expertise in Internet and wireless data transmission.  Its activities cover design and engineering, information and telecommunication systems, with a business scope covering the Middle East, West Asia and Africa.
