The Abu Dhabi Police announced at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK that it has chosen to deploy Cisco’s unified communications technology solution at its headquarters and branch offices in the UAE.

The deal between Abu Dhabi Police and Cisco will see the organisation adopt the networking vendor’s IP telephony solutions, bringing with it enhanced infrastructure for the transmission of data, voice and video through the emirate.

“The Abu Dhabi Police is seeking to keep up to date with the latest advancements by implementing the best international practices in the field of information technology, to achieve our aim of preserving safety and security for the whole community,” says Colonel Anwar Al Mullah, Director of Information Technology and Telecommunications at Abu Dhabi Police.

“With Cisco collaboration solutions, we will be able to achieve our goal of improving and accelerating interaction between our teams, thereby helping citizens to access relevant business information in real time,” he adds.

Wayne Hull, Director and General Manager for the UAE at Cisco, expects the solution to offer instant benefits: “Cisco is helping Abu Dhabi Police to take a holistic approach to achieving a highly secure communications environment by providing the strategies, tools and resources to improve its information management process, enhance citizen communications and increase inter-organisational collaboration.”
