Kodak hails valued partners

Kodak has handed out a quartet of awards to its channel partners in the Middle East, at distributor Forefront’s Hall 4 stand at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

The prizes have been given to companies which have given ‘superior performance’ alongside Kodak over the past few years. The awards have been presented to Saudi Arabia’s Samir Group; CAD Emirates from the UAE; Kuwait’s Ashraf Information Technology and Diagonal Image of Lebanon.

The awards recognise a hugely successful period for Kodak in the MENA region, in which it has enjoyed a growth of over 45% from the same period last year. Laszlo Platthy, regional sales and marketing manager for Kodak says: “We do have a relatively lower market share in the Middle East than in Europe, so for us it’s key to further our success, to get a larger market share and we’re on the right track with it.”

“Forefront is very keen to provide that edge for Kodak, and we’re introducing new products – we’re very much focused on enhancing some of our niche products,” adds Platthy. “As a matter of fact we’re launching a software suite in Arabic, which no other competitive international brands have. We also have a network scanner with an Arabic interface, which is going to be a great product for the Middle East.

“For us (the Middle East) is the growing region, and we are increasing our local presence,” adds Platthy. “Kodak has an office here of over 50 people, and we will get more people on the street covering the entire Gulf. We are also looking at extending our service offerings. Kodak has always been known for image quality and products, but what is now important is that because of the recession, they are looking at the TCO figures more carefully.”
