Software vendor Intuit has formally revealed that its regional partner TransNational has become a master distributor and will be given the role of expanding its presence in the Middle East and North Africa.

TransNational has been working with Intuit for two years, but BJ Schaknowski, Director of Intuit’s Solution Provider Channel, revealed to GITEX Times that the alliance has now been extended.

“As we look to expand globally we have been looking closely at best-in-class partnerships,” says Schaknowski. “We believe TransNational’s appointment as our first master partnership will help us to expand our breadth and scale in terms of expertise and market coverage. In markets where we wouldn’t have any plans to ramp up our staff, Transnational will serve as our channel to reach customers.”

Intuit’s endorsement of UAE-based TransNational’s efforts doesn’t just come from its decision to award the company master distribution status. The vendor also recently named the distributor its 2010 International Partner of the Year at its annual partner conference.

Intuit is one of the largest players in the market, employing more than 8,000 employees worldwide. In the US, it claims to be the market leader in the SMB management software space, while its tax return software is responsible for generating one in every three tax returns that is filed in the US.

As well as building a channel for the company in the Middle East, TransNational is acting as a development partner for Intuit, reveals Vijendra Singh, General Manager of TransNational.

“We are providing add-ons for Intuit’s payroll solutions that are not a fit for the Middle East and we have actually opened an office in India specifically to develop regional features,” he reveals. “We have also requested features for regional enhancements, which Intuit takes into account.”

Partners at TransNational’s booth this week include Glorious Software, Z Micro and EOR.
