Merlin is presenting to visitors at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK a new range of products which caters to those looking to add a bit of 3D technology to their lives.

One of Merlin’s products on display is a 3D-enabled camera (known as the Merlin 3D camera) that is said to be able to capture 3D photographs and video. The technology is dependent on two lenses fitted inside the camera, which merges images to create a single 3D image or video. The captured images and movies can then be previewed on the camera’s LCD screen or played on any 3D capable TV via a High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) cable.

The camera is equipped with a 12-megapixel image sensor and has 3x optical zoom capabilities. The device can also be used to capture images or video in conventional 2D format at the flip of a switch.

To allow for the portable viewing of captured 3D memories, Merlin has also produced the Pocket Theatre 3D. Images and videos taken on any 3D camera are viewable on the device, without the need of 3D glasses. It also plays 3D movies such as Avatar and Piranha 3D without the need for glasses. With support for popular video and image formats and a built-in auto creation feature that converts 2D content into 3D, the Merlin Pocket 3D theatre is garnering quite a lot of interest at GITEX.

A special edition Merlin Bluetooth Car Mirror premium kit with wireless vehicle reversing system is on display at the stand as well. The device combines a Bluetooth hands free kit, reverse parking camera and an in-car MP3 player.

The waterproof wireless parking camera is claimed to be able to show clear images even at night, in low visibility conditions. It packs USB connectivity and a SD card memory slot to transfer music. The device also stores the last 100 dialled and received call in memory.
