Visitors to Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s stand this week will be able to see how the department uses IT to provide services to customers.

Efficient, effective and safe transaction processing has been the key driver behind the development of the ADJD’s IT systems and infrastructure.

Amongst the highlights are demonstrations of e-services provided through mobile phone applications and SMS. The e-kiosk, plasma TV screens and touch display screen will offer services such as online customer feedback. ADJD’s presence this week forms part of its 2008-2013 strategic development plan. Visitors are invited to see the department’s progress.

The Judicial Dept. stall at Gitex was well thought out.
I really liked particularly the two touch-screen e-kiosks available for people to browse through.
One was a screen offering short animated video clips with a cute Arabic character, that helped demystify key courtroom procedures for the un-initiated, such as How to conduct ourselves when summoned to court, or how to seek out the help of reconciliation committees, especially in solving marital disputes. Very simple, and cute animations!
The other e-Kiosk was a "Wheel-of-Fortune" style listing of basic court services offered, for individuals, and for businesses.. Such as notarizing a document, or applying for a birth certificate, or filing a civil complaint etc.. procedures, documents required, fees, even office locations and timings.. very handy!
I hope they will implement this easy to use tool online in the web soon..
