Eaton Corporation is showcasing ePDU, its rack-based power distribution unit, at the show this week.

Customers can now choose between either a ‘Standard’ range of ePDUs or a ‘Custom’ unit to meet their exact needs. With the new offering, Eaton claims it is able to meet its customers’ exact power distribution requirements while helping them understand and optimise their energy consumption. “We seek to provide our customers with the best product selection and the best value. That is why we have now simplified our ePDU offering to encompass two targeted product ranges,” explains Stefan Coote, Product Manager at Eaton’s Power Quality Division in EMEA.

“With our Standard range of ePDUs — consisting of a set of off-the-shelf top-selling products — ordering is fast and straightforward, while our Custom capability is available to satisfy the needs of the most demanding data centres,” he says.

Both Standard and Custom Eaton ePDUs are integrated into Eaton’s Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) monitoring software, allowing users to monitor and communicate with both ePDUs and UPSs via a single interface and a single IP address.

“Eaton’s intelligent ePDUs are designed specifically to help data centre managers understand their rapidly escalating power requirements,” says Coote. “ePDUs provide a large amount of information, accessible via a standard web browser via the IPM software, to help users make energy-saving and cost-reducing choices.” Eaton’s team will be out in force to take customers through its product range.
