Iomega's complete range of storage solutions for consumers and small enterprises will be laid bare for all to see this week. The vendor plans to impress visitors to GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK with network hard drives and NAS devices, as well as one of the strongest line-ups of direct-attached desktop and portable external hard drives in the industry.

“GITEX provides Iomega with an ideal forum for meeting with new and existing customers from all over the region,” says Jan Jensen, Vice President Sales EMEA at Iomega Corporation. “Any time you have an event that brings together the quantity and quality of delegates that GITEX does, you have to be there if you are serious about developing and growing your business in that region.”

Iomega regards the Middle East as a strategic growth market and has signed a number of new distribution partners during the past 18 months. Jensen insists the firm has “aggressive” plans for the region now that it has a stronger local infrastructure in place.

“Over the past year, we have put a strong team together in the Middle East, led by our regional sales manager Cizar Nazeeh Abughazaleh,” explains Jensen.  “Cizar and his team are already implementing channel programmes in the Middle East region to ensure continuous support to our business partners and customers. We are also continuing to build our distribution network.  From a worldwide perspective, developing the Middle East for business today and for years to come remains high on the agenda.”
