Du, the UAE's second telecom operator, has been busy strengthening its offering in 2010 as it seeks to build on its rapid growth since its launch.

Du is busy exhibiting a wide range of tailor-made solutions to meet the needs of its customers at this year's GITEX  TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

"GITEX is the biggest technology event in this region's calendar. Given the scale and repertoire of the event, it is without doubt the largest confluence of professionals and the latest products that visitors will ever see in this region," says Hala Badri, Executive Vice President of Brand and Communications at du.

Badri says that GITEX is important for du as it enables it to keep abreast of the latest technological developments, trends, and more importantly, it helps du to "feel the pulse" of this market. "Our approach has always been driven by delivering value through innovation and enhanced customer experiences. And going forward, this will continue to be our proposition in offering products and solutions to our customers that will enable us to gain an edge," she adds.

This approach is particularly significant in light of the numerous services and offerings that du has launched recently. Earlier this year, du launched an unlimited video on demand service for AED75 ($20) a month.

The service provides customers unlimited access to a catalogue of entertainment, including movies, TV series, dramas, documentaries, music and children's programmes.

A few weeks earlier, du announced bold plans to "trigger the transformation" of the UAE's broadband market by increasing its fixed broadband speeds at no additional cost.

Under the new scheme, which is billed as ‘Real Broadband for All', du offered residential customers a fixed line connection and an 8Mbps internet connection - which was previously only 1Mbps - for AED199 ($54) per month, from August 15.

Meanwhile, for AED259 and AED349 per month, customers can benefit from broadband speeds of 16Mps and 24Mbps respectively, along with landline services.

DU is talking about 'unique customer experience'??? This makes me laugh!! DU doesn't know what a basic customer service is, so they better stop dreaming and making false promises! DU makes me and everybody else in this country sick!

Du.....you really need to get your act together with regard to customer service because at the moment it is extremely poor!!
