IT solutions provider Pro Technology is hoping for a repeat performance of last year’s efforts during GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK as it prepares to make an impact with its wide range of products this time around.

The storage and security specialist believes the show is an excellent opportunity to show customers what it has to offer and build relationships with end-users that would otherwise be out of reach.

“We believe that GITEX is one of the most effective business development platforms as it gives every IT organisation an opportunity to flaunt their offerings and gain fruitful results,” explains Jamal Maraqa, Managing Director at the company. “Being there will enable us to reach clients and vendors that cannot be reached through any other tools or avenues.”

Despite the economic downturn, Pro Technology claims that it successfully collected a huge number of leads from potential customers during GITEX 2009. This year, with the GCC market show signs of improvement, Maraqa insists it is seeking to boost sales and secure more business partnerships.

The UAE-based company plans to showcase a diverse range of IT solutions, including everything from high-end enterprise hardware to stylish accessories – some of which have only just been launched in the region. The pick of the bunch is the new UV-LED Evolution flatbed printer from Sun Innovations, which Pro Technology is the sole reseller for in the Middle East.

“This printer offers attractive, unique and exemplary solutions for home accessories and interior decoration,” says Maraqa, who adds that the firm will also display the latest Apple iPad and accessories.

Pro Technology’s expertise extends to a number of fields, including digital storage, archiving, disaster recovery, broadcast systems, communication solutions, data protection and wireless. Over the years it has developed regional partnerships with prestigious brands such as Apple, Symantec, Qualstar, Hitachi, Lacie, Nexsan and Dicota. As a result, it sells products through four separate divisions - enterprise solutions, retail, printing and AV, and distribution – to ensure the right level of focus is given to each division.

Maraqa insists it is a good time to be involved in the regional IT sector.

“The IT infrastructure of the Middle East is expanding and modernising,” he points out.
