The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF), a global trade association for mobile media companies, has struck an industry partnership for the dedicated programme on mobile media content and applications at this year’s GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

MEF recently launched its Middle East office - which is co-founded by Qtel and based in Doha - and boasts regional chapters in EMEA, Asia and the Americas. Its regional presence will support and strengthen the mobile innovation ecosystem and promote local content as a key driver for the adoption of mobile data services throughout the Middle East.

EMEA General Manager, Sarah Roberts, insists MEF is looking forward to developing links with key strategic companies in the Middle East through its participation in the Mobile Apps & Content World section of GITEX.

“As an established event, GITEX is an ideal platform for attracting leaders and innovators alike in the mobile media sector. By identifying mobile applications and content as a separate stream within the programme, GITEX has recognised an exciting growth area and the speakers should provide some interesting insight into international and regional trends in apps and mobile content,” she says.
