The industry's leading mobile content developers are set to showcase some of the technologies that are poised to shape the future of this burgeoning technology sector at the inaugural Mobile Apps & Content World of GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK.

This brand new platform, which provides a high profile, dynamic framework for the mobile applications and entertainment market, will feature some of the top names driving the direction of the sector.

This will be the first opportunity that developers, distributors and manufacturers will have to come together in the Middle East to promote the latest tools dominating the mobile industry.

Visitors will be able to meet with leading companies such as Nokia, Haiku, FiCall, Asus-Garnim, Binatone, Sevoloteam, Globo Mobile and many more.

The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF), a global trade association for the mobile media industry, will also be present as the Industry Partner of the sector.

It will have representatives on hand to discuss some of the initiatives that it is driving on behalf of its members to boost mobile entertainment adoption, shape regulation and deliver competitive advantage for mobile content providers.

The launch of GITEX Mobile Apps & Content World comes as a fierce battle for market share ensues between mobile operators and manufacturers eager to open up their own apps stores.

From carrier alliances to apps store buy-outs, the US$2 billion global mobile applications market is evolving rapidly as consumers demand a growing range of applications to buy and download. According to market analysis firm Research2guidance, 505,000 mobile apps were launched last year alone.
