Dell Services has completed the first stage of Jordan’s National ehealth program, Hakeem.

The healthcare information management system, along with infrastructure and other programs, have deployed to three healthcare centres in the country, as part of the planned roll out of a single e-healthcare system for the whole country.

The company has provided a tailored version of VistA, an open source clinical and healthcare information management system, along with a Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), along with designing a robust infrastructure for the project, including hardware and networking, to ensure high availability of the system.

Dell Services also provided support to Hakeem, which is being managed by the non-profit Electronic Health Solutions (EHS) agency, to facilitate the expansion of the system to the whole of Jordan, in line with His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision of an effective, integrated national healthcare infrastructure. Dell Services created a customized training plan for users, a roadmap for clinical transformation, and shared best practices with EHS.

Ghassan Al-Lahham, chief executive officer of EHS commented: “Hakeem is a very important program and is an essential step to uplift the Jordanian healthcare system. Dell has played a major role in helping us build a foundation and a framework to be utilized for a country-wide implementation.”

“Dell Services is pleased to have contributed to this groundbreaking project by providing an initial VistA pilot, infrastructure build out, user training, and transfer of established best practices,” said Berk Smith, president, Dell Services Healthcare.
