Display vendor AOC has stepped up its expansion strategy in the Middle East by opening a branch office in Saudi Arabia.

The office will be headed by Afaq Ahmed, the company's new country sales manager.

According to AOC, Afaq's responsibilities will include enhancing its existing channel-to-market within KSA and working closely with distribution partners to expand its presence.

"We are happy to welcome Afaq onboard AOC, and the appointment of Afaq is just the first step of our expansion in KSA," said Suchit Kumar AOC's deputy general manager for sales MEA and CIS Central Asia. "We value his considerable experience in the Saudi market, which would work in expanding our base in the KSA market."

Ahmed boasts more than 17 years' experience of the Saudi distribution channel. He has held roles at several leading distributors and mostly recently worked with Asbis - one of AOC's regional distribution partners.

AOC's move into Saudi Arabia is part of a wider Middle East growth plan that has already seen it appoint several distributors throughout the region during the past year.
