Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Enviroserve for disposal of e-waste.

Enviroserve, a public-private partnership with the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water, will help DSO to dispose and recycle electronic waste such as old PCs and mobile phones in an environmentally responsible manner.

Eng. Muammar Al Katheeri, Senior VP of Engineering Management at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) commented on the signing: "This MoU comes as part of our efforts to fulfil our corporate environmental responsibility on which we place significant importance. It is also in line with the UAE Government's drive to introduce, monitor and develop green initiatives and environmental issues of relevance to the country.

"While the advanced technological environment we offer is a unique one, it is equally important that we are proactive about green initiatives to ensure future generations enjoy the tech-innovations in a clean and healthy environment," he added.

Stuart Fleming, CEO of Enviroserve said: "We are pleased to work with the region's leading technology park. DSO has shown outstanding commitment to corporate social responsibility and is regularly taking up new initiatives. DSO has joined a growing list of companies we work with, companies that focus more and more on environment-related activities and raise awareness on green issues."
