Gartner is to bring its CIO Academy to the UAE again this year. The CIO level event will be held in Abu Dhabi for the second year running, from 26-29th September.

The event is held in association with the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School, and is intended to be a highly interactive event for IT decision makers, that aims to address their own organisational issues, and provide focused education and planning to tackle those issues.

"Delivering this programme in the Gulf in 2009 was an exciting yet natural step for the University. Last year's session was well received, and our contacts at many prominent organizations in the region encouraged us to bring the programme back for a second year" said Professor Michael Earl, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, (Development and External Affairs), University of Oxford.

The CIO Academy is a global program that allows interaction between business school faculty, Gartner analysts and C-level IT executives, with a focus on both technology and leadership issues.

"The CIOs who joined us last year said the three things that stood out about their experience at CIO Academy were the quality of the speakers, the chance to meet fellow CIOs from within the region, and the relevance of the curriculum to their careers" said Roger Kemp, group vice president, Executive Programs, Gartner.
