Ninth edition of ICT trade show opens in Saudi Arabia

GITEX KSA 2010 was officially opened yesterday by Communications and Information Technology Minister Mohamed Jamil bin Ahmed Mulla.

The ninth edition of the show, which organisers say features more than 450 exhibitors from 17 countries, provides an annual showcase for the ICT industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Organisers say that the show has been restructured to reflect growing niche markets in technology, such as alternate energy solutions, telecoms technology including fibre optics, as well as office technology and business applications.

Mohammed Al Hussaini, deputy general manager, Riyadh Exhibitions Company, organiser of the event, told Al Bawaba: "The main aim of this fair is to provide people with new and contemporary ways of being more efficient and punctual in a fast-paced, modern world. We have accordingly assembled a formidable line-up of manufactures and specialists from China, Egypt, Germany, India, Jordan, Korea, Lebanon, Pakistan, Singapore, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA and other countries to showcase the latest innovations and cost-effective ICT solutions at GITEX KSA/ Saudi Communications.

"The diverse selection of premium-quality products and services provides trade visitors and buyers with a wider range of choices and greater flexibility to explore the best solutions for their respective ICT requirements. The excellent exhibitor response confirms the sustained interest among global and regional companies in emerging prospects in Saudi Arabia as well as in the greater MENA region's ICT sector," he added.

GITEX KSA 2010 runs until 29th April at the Riyadh International Exhibition Centre.

This article and all articles i read did not mention an missed an important item- " Event working times", is it 8-5 or 8-10pm or ?? Also the event coordinator website is basically useless.
