I am not proud on the traffic violations now especially on over-speeding, I saw a lot of vehicles travelling especially on riyadh-dammam vice versa dammam-riyadh running around 200/kmph but the urvan van selecting only vehicles want to catch them up!!!!! Urvan Van with Camera press your camera in all vehicles so that the violators will be caught and not only pressing only from 1 times in an hour!!!

IT IS GREAT THAT YOU ALL JUMPED TO CORRECT THE WORD, WHEN REALLY THAT DOESNT MATTER MUCH AS ANYONE THAT KNOWS ARABIC KNOWS WHAT THE PUBLISHER IS TRYING TO SAY. AS ARABIC SPEAKING PPL WE ALL KNOW THAT THERE IS NO DEFINATE RIGHT OR WRONG WAY OF WRITING AND ARABIC WORD IN ENGLISH. ANY WAY THATS NOT MY CONCERN, MY CONCERN IS THAT WETHER WE DEPLOY A MAGICIAN OR A NIGHT WATCHER IN OUR TRAFFIC LIGHT SIGNALS, THAT WONT REALLY HELP WHEN YOU STILL HAVE: - - AROUND 60% OF THE ROADS STILL NOT UP ROAD SAFETY STANDARDS AND PPL IN JEDDAH KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT - UNDER AGE DRIVING - KIDS OF AGE 12 AND SOMETIME LESS DRIVING AROUND BIG CARS WITH OUT ANY DRIVING KNOWLEDGE OR SOCIAL EDUCATION ON WHAT HE COULD BE UP AGAINST - A GENERAL SAFETY DRIVING NEEDS TO BE PUT IN PLACE - AWARENESS TO DRIVING RULES SHOULD BE OBSERVED BEFORE THEY START PENALIZING PPL ON MISTAKES OR BEHAVOUR THAT MOST DRIVERS DONT EVEN FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THE FIRST PLACE. AND THESE ARE ONLY A FEW OF THE THINGS THAT NEED TO BE LOOKED AT BEFORE THEY CONCENTRATE ON FANCY MACHINE THAT WILL ONLY ADD FRUSTRATION TO THE PEOPLE. THIS MACHINE ARE HIGHLY APPLICABLE IN PLACES WHERE DRIVING ETHICS AND EDUCATION IS OBSERVED.

All the main topic is traffic control and i see the discussions are deviated way past the imaginations. here something good is implemented to avoid those horrible accidents due to some perverts on the streets. would suggest the govt not only issue the ticket but to cease the license and impound the Car for Six months, such arrogant characters do not deserve to be on Road. Atleast this would make people indulged into such activities take it seriously.

Isn't MAGIC illegal and against Islamic laws? I am confused, didn't they just executed a Lenabese MAGICIAN a week or so ago? I heard it in the news and saw his wife and daughter crying and begging for merci for him and now they are putting a MAGICIAN in every intersection. WOW..

Dear Toni Fiat, Yes Magic is illegal, and it still is and will always be but its the mistake of the editor/writer of this article who mis-translated the word (SAHER) "the watcher" into (SAHHER) "the magician" Hope this put you out of your confusion :)

I believe you have an error in translation. The new System in Saudi Arabia is Called "Saher" with the letter H representing the arabic letter Ha'a not Ha. The translation is not "Magician" but "One who stays up late".

The system is called Saher(ساهر) pronounced with a light H, not Sahher (ساحر) pronounced with a heavy H, which means to stay up late into the night, as in what a night watchman might do to protect a place or community.

Actually Saher means awaken not Magician اتمنى تدقوون في معنى الكلمه حيث ان الظام اسمه ساهر وليس ساحر

Kindly correct the misunderstanding, the new electronic traffic control system called 'Saher', the word saher means do not sleep all-night, in other word its means 24/7 watch B. Regards Eng. Amir A .Elahmadi

A publication like yours should at the very least verify translation and interpretation when it comes to headlines, and not just shoot it out because it sounds good. "Saher" in Arabic means awake, alert. The "Saher" that you refer to meaning Magician, is pronounced with the "H" that non Arab speakers can't pronounce. I hope that you will review your topics more diligently in the future, and not give way to sensationalism over fact in your headlines. Best regards, Noufal S. Solaiman
