ABIT, the IT arm of corporate finance outfit Al-Barij International, has become Cisco's first fully certified Smart Care partner in Oman less than a year after its inception.

The certification is the latest move by ABIT to strengthen its advanced technologies offering and comes just a few months after it was named a Cisco Premier Partner.

The Cisco Smart Care Service is a collaborative offering that provides Cisco certified partners with a service platform to build upon Cisco networking expertise to create new customised services for their customers.

The service means ABIT can provide its customers with ongoing remote monitoring, network maintenance and comprehensive technical support for the entire voice and data network, as well as add-on services.

The reseller, which holds specialisations in Cisco unified communications solutions, had to meet specific service, support and personnel criteria to gain the certification.

"Cisco is core to our business and the Premier certification and Smart Care partnership is a demonstration of our continued commitment to our relationship" said director Hisham Hasan.

"As the Sultanate's competitiveness grows for technology, we too will continue to grow and better our skills and capability in deploying the complete portfolio of Cisco solutions for our customers", he added.

ABIT also boasts two Cisco Labs which it uses for internal R&D, training and proof of concept purposes.
