Iomega adds new face to regional channel team Mohammad Jweied joins Iomega having built up a decade of channel experience with Emitac and Samsung. (ITP Images)

Iomega has strengthened its channel workforce in the Middle East by bringing Mohammad Jweied on board as sales manager for the GCC.

Jweied will work with regional sales chief Cizar Abu Ghazaleh to drive Iomega's storage business in the region and increase its presence in both the consumer and SME segments.  

He joins the company from Samsung Gulf, where he served as retail sales manager in a role that focused on developing and engaging with potential clients.

Abu Ghazaleh believes Jweied will be an important member of the team as the EMC-owned outfit attempts to conquer the regional storage hardware market.

"With over ten years' experience, Mohammad's superb skills are well-established, and he will help us in extending our already strong presence in both the consumer and SMB markets in the GCC," he said. "His GCC sales and marketing experience in business-to-business and consumer sales is an excellent asset for Iomega."

Prior to joining Samsung, Jweied worked at Emitac Distribution, helping the HP distributor to establish a strong retail customer base across the UAE and GCC.

"I am enthusiastic about Iomega's programmes and products in both the consumer and small business storage markets, and look forward to doing my part to enhance Iomega's leadership in markets across the GCC countries," said Jweied.
