Belkin's Conserve Surge with Timer targets firms interested in reducing their carbon footprint and saving money.

It is equipped with a builtin timer that - after an 11-hour automatic countdown has run its course - will shutdown its six auto-off outlets. This means devices that are needless wasting power in standby mode (or otherwise) after office hours will be turned off, which will save the business money and reduce power wastage. The countdown timer
initiates when the user hits the wired desktop button when he first comes in to work.

However, if the employee is still working when the 11 hour time expires, the desktop button's LED will begin to flash, which signifies that the power will be cut in a few moments. Hitting the button when this is happening will start a new 11 hour countdown.

In use the device works as Belkin says though we suggest that Belkin reduce the timer to nine hours. Alternatively if the device's timer could be programmed to suit specific work hours, it would be able to save even more energy and money.
