Canon has released a new DSLR camera in the United Arab Emirates that promises to deliver "speed, power and high-resolution images" for professional photographers.

The high-performance camera features a new Canon 16.1megapixel CMOS sensor and a 45-point Auto Focus system with 39 cross-type sensors, providing a selection of precise focus areas across the frame.

Dual DIGIC 4 processors provide the power to shoot continuous images at up to 10 frames per second (fps), as well as delivering the widest ISO range ever to feature in a Canon camera. It also offers full manual exposure so photographers have control over depth of field.

"Taking image quality and versatility to unprecedented levels, the EOS 1D Mark IV sets a new benchmark for action photography and will further strengthen Canon's position as the camera of choice for professional photographers. The EOS 1D mark IV represents the culmination of more than 23 years of EOS development, and is a definitive moment in our company's photographic history," said Vineet Wadhwa, DSLR product manager, Canon Middle East.

The Canon EOS 1D Mark IV also comes with a EOS Movie function that captures 1080p HD video at 30, 25, 60 and 50fps.

It's now available in stores across the country for AED 21,399 (without the lens).
