Almasa polishes software portfolio with Ericom
IT distributor to begin offering virtualisation solutions following latest vendor tie-up
Almasa’s tie-up with Ericom reflects its objective of increasing its software portfolio, according to the company.
Almasa IT Distribution has diversified its value portfolio with the addition of Ericom Software, a provider of enterprise-wide application access and virtualisation solutions.
Under the terms of the deal, Almasa will distribute, market and service designated Ericom software in the Middle East and Africa region.
"This agreement not only reflects our continued focus on enhancing customer value by providing our channel partners with a wider choice of products and solutions, but also contributes to our objective on extending our coverage on software solutions," said Ilyas Mohammed, general manager of Almasa's software division.
"I am sure that our in-depth knowledge of the regional channel partner infrastructure and in-country presence combined with the expertise of our sales and marketing force will be a major contributor to Ericom success in the region," he added.
Ericom claims that virtualisation of the desktop and data centre are two of the most important changes taking place within IT today. It hopes the tie-up with Almasa will lead to a marked growth in Middle East sales.
"As a key part of our expansion strategy Ericom is delighted to team up with Almasa and work closely with them in broadening the availability of our solutions across an area which is widely recognised as one of the fastest growing regions in the world," stated Ian Platt, managing director at Ericom Software.
