Aastra upgrades MX-ONE call control manager The new solution is intended to offer medium and large sized enterprises a wide range of IP telephony solutions.

Aastra has announced the launch of version 4.0 of its MX-ONE call control manager, which includes significant enhancements to improve TCO and deliver a greater range of unified communications solutions.

The new version of MX-ONE, which is aimed at medium and large sized enterprises, can be configured to meet a wide range of customer needs, with compatibility with Aastra UC solutions including multi-media contact centre, unified messaging, collaboration and conferencing.

The upgrade includes greater support for mobility, both on campus through highly scalable SIP DECT and for home workers via fixed mobile convergence.

Other improvements include support for industry standards such as CSTA V3 and XML, for ease of integration with third party solutions. It is also the first unified communications solution to be certified with on the HP ProCurve ONE Service zl Module in order to offer a comprehensive UC solution.

The MX-ONE can also be configured for distributed or centralized operations, over one site or several sites spanning multiple countries, and management has also been made easier through an enhanced GUI.

The MX-ONE also features a high level of scalability, with one server scaling up to 15,000 users and 15 media gateways. Up to 124 servers can be combined on a single system, offering businesses the opportunity to scale up to 500,000 users on a single system. Two new IP desk phones and the expanded numbering plan are other features that come in the new version.

"The MX-ONE release 4.0 will be available in the Middle East during the second quarter of 2010", added Marcus Junthé, Head of Product Management & Support at Aastra Telecom Middle East.
