Jacky's Electronics has teamed up with Samsung to launch a promotional campaign that will see 120 of its customers walk away with new LED TVs.

Customers that spend AED250 (US$70) in Jacky's outlets in Dubai will be eligible to enter a raffle to win the TVs. The offer will run throughout the duration of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), which started last week and finishes on 28th February.

"Jacky's name has been synonymous with innovative and pioneering technologies, and we want to ensure that our customers are provided with revolutionary products from the world's leading brands," stated Jimmy Patel, general manager at Jacky's Electronics.

"We are very pleased to be working closely with Samsung and provide this year's DSF shoppers with only the best LED TV in the market," he added.

Patel says that aside from the Samsung prize draw, Jacky's has put together AED2m (US$500,000m) worth of product bundle offers across categories such as IT, electronics, mobiles, appliances and photography.

"We are also offering Jacky's extended warranty scheme on all products," he revealed.

In addition, Jacky's is giving away Targus laptop bags, 8GB Apple iPods and AED50 (US$15) gift vouchers for any purchase of digital and video cameras and smartphones.

The tie-up with Samsung comes at a time when LED technologies are gaining traction in the mainstream consumer market. The ultra-slim products claim to use less energy than existing TV models and offer a more precise control of colour and clarity as they create images using white LED lights.

"Embraced by consumers for their unmatched picture quality and slim design, and praised by reviewers for their technological innovation, Samsung LED TVs have been recognised as a ‘new species' of TV that drove consumer demand, retailer performance and the overall TV market upward since their launch last year," stated Ram Modak, general manager for Samung Gulf's digital media business.
