US operator Verizon Wireless has selected Spirent Communications to provide testing solutions for key components of its LTE network in the US.
Spirent Communications, which is based in California, will provide testing solutions for the certification of devices that will operate on the nationwide LTE network that Verizon Wireless is building on the Upper 700 MHz C-Block spectrum.
Spirent's solutions include hardware, test simulators, system simulators and software for test automation. Any organisation considering offering devices on the upcoming Verizon Wireless LTE network can use these tools in preparation for device certification by independent labs.
The deal expands on the two companies' existing relationship for testing devices and services. While Spirent is the first company selected by Verizon Wireless for providing approved LTE test equipment, Verizon Wireless expects to announce additional testing solutions.
