IT distributor Aptec Holdings is set to rally the HP ProCurve channel this week with a special one-day training session for aspiring Accredited Sales Professionals (ASPs).

Resellers attending the Dubai event on January 20th will get the chance to work towards attaining an ASP designation, which certifies that an individual is knowledgeable of networking concepts and can describe the features, functions and positioning of the products in the HP ProCurve portfolio.

It also certifies that the candidate has the sales skills to understand the customer's business environment and can recommend a ProCurve solution to meet the customer's needs.

Sabbahuddin Khan, business unit manager for networking at Aptec, says the ProCurve training coincides with a "great increase" in enquiries and leads that the company has recently seen.

"Channel partners are finding dealing with ProCurve more profitable and hence are dedicating resources to the product," he said.

"To meet the requirements of the channel in terms of training, Aptec will be organising such trainings often. Also, Aptec now has technical resources available to our channel partners for their technical requirements."

Aptec says it will train resellers on ProCurve at this week's session and then put them on the ASP exam to get them HP Certified.
