Saudi distributor Advanced Integrated Media (AIM), has announced the launch of a new distribution division to expand its range to include new business lines.

The newly formed Gulf International for Technology (GIT) will initially handle Epson products, and will also look to develop Microsoft business.

AIM, part of the Riyadh-headquartered conglomerate National Technology Group, is a distributor for HP, although Bassam Abu Baker, group general manager of AIM said that the move is in no way an attempt to dilute AIM's HP business, but instead a means to maintain its focus on HP's volumes lines while simultaneously giving supplementary brands the attention they require.

"The launch of GIT will greatly benefit the Saudi market as we will be able to introduce new leading brands and provide better choices to consumers," he said. "This is also an important strategic move and an integral part of our long-term growth plan that will enable us to address the gradual increase in demand for IT and other technology solutions in Saudi. Furthermore, GIT will complement AIM's existing distribution network and will add greater value to our wide array of products and services, which we believe will help stimulate the growth of the IT market in the Kingdom."
