Subscribers now able to receive and pay their bills online; service not available to business customers yet

Du goes live with e-billing option Using e-bill, Du customers will be notified by email once their bill is generated.

United Arab Emirates telco Du now gives subscribers the option of using an e-billing service so they can pay their bills online without waiting for traditional mail.

E-bill is available for individual du home and postpaid (Elite and monthly plan) subscribers but not business customers as yet. The free service is said to be part of the firm's commitment to eco-responsible corporate practices.

"As a socially-responsible company, du is committed to implementing environmentally-sensitive and sustainable initiatives like the e-bill system," said Farid Faraidooni, EVP Commercial, du. "In addition to being an eco-friendly service, e-bill will streamline the payment process, offering customers a convenience and ease. As many UAE customers are now completing the majority of their financial and business transactions online, e-bill is destined to be a useful addition to our customer service offerings."

Like its rival Etisalat, Du will not be charging any additional fees associated with e-bill and customers can sign up by logging into their self-care account and clicking on ‘billing and payment'. They can then choose to receive an e-mail bill, a paper bill or opt for both.

Once e-bill is selected, it will be activated immediately and customers are notified via e-mail when their next bill is generated.
