Riverbed Technology has installed Brian Dainton as its new channel account manager for the Middle East and Africa region.

Dainton joins the infrastructure performance company from Symantec, where he most recently served as an information risk management channel sales specialist covering MENA, South Africa, Russia and the Southern Mediterranean from Dubai.

Marcus Chambers, VP sales EMEA at Riverbed, believes Dainton's experience will be a vital addition to the company at a time when it is looking to expand its partner coverage.

"His knowledge and expertise will be a great asset as we continue to develop our channel partner network within this region," stated Chambers.

Dainton has been working in the IT industry for more than 20 years. His time at Symantec also saw him serve as a channel sales manager for the enterprise messaging management team within the UK, with the target of driving revenue growth for the security vendor's newest technologies across the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to Symantec, Dainton worked for IBM, Infobank, Allegis Group and Zantaz.

"I'm looking forward to working alongside our channel partners and assisting them with their development," stated Dainton.
